dishevelled and curly
like molten golden fine threads
Lord has matted hair
that's home of sacred Ganges
keeps on purifying water
Your throat is blue as
you drank poison churned from sea
to purge its vicious effect
You wear tiger skin
shows triumph on every force
and conquer over the lust
Wearing of serpent
on neck as garland denotes
wisdom and eternity
You rule the universe
through your weapon trident, is
emblem of sovereignty
Kashi is your home
you loved to live in kashi
the holiest place on the earth
Enchanting your name
frees from sins like crookedness,
hate, cunningness, jealousy
You are God of Gods
beyond cycle of creation
self existent, self contained
Lord! you are the truth,
essence of life and beauty:
‘satyam shivam sundaram’
