Holi haibun

India celebrates the festival of fun and joy, called Holi on 2nd March of this year. As per Hindu's calendar, Holi is beginning of new year i.e. New Samvat and mostly falls in the month of March. This festival signifies arrival of the Spring season and expectation of good crop harvesting. This is an ancient Hindu festival and popular in many parts of the South Asia. People play colours mixed water on each other. They also smear colour powder (gulal) on each other's faces and hug. Along with fun and joy this inculcates friendship and fraternity amongst them.

Great craze and courage is seen amongst the children. Right in the morning they are ready with their colours and the water guns (pichkari). They play colours, the whole day. This festival is really enjoyed by the children. Today they get liberty to tease even the older and elders by throwing colours. If someone resists, their charm in playing colours on him boosts, and feel it more funny because on this festival whoever is out in the streets, he is there to play the colours and he knows it is just impossible to return uncoloured.

People go in the streets in groups singing and dancing. Whoever new joins the group, smears colour powder (gulal) on other members and hug turn by turn. People also enjoy many delectable dishes. Many dishes are homely made and few can be bought from the market. The guests and friends visiting anyone's home are offered these dishes.

In your love, Ghazal

I forgot everything of the universe, in your love.
I remember yet all of our chatters, in your love.
My eyes saw, your eyes're like the lotus petals;
therein, they were eager to immerse, in your love.
After they drank the lustre of those pretty eyes,
my eyes made me loony, the heart hoarse, in your love.
I was on mission to find a place, peaceful and safe;
where our dialogues, we can converse, in your love.
My heart always crave to sing your those whispers,
can't forget the echoes in  my ears, in your love.
The honey like sweet conversations, you exchanged,
for chanting again and again I rehearse, in your love.
Now left with mere desire SD to squander my whole;
though I know, later would face the worse, in your love.

Spring limerick

Warm wind of the Spring, starts to blow.
Turns quickly into stream, the snow.
Beast of valley's happy.
They can wash their nappy.
Whole of the valley is to glow.
