Indian summer

Indian May and June
have the burning noon
as the sun rises
horror of heat terrorises
dresses are wet in sweat
hard to go out in heat
fear of heat stroke
facing summer is not a joke
harvest season is over
filed are free for crop rollover
fans and coolers are on
increased water power consumption
ponds and pools are dry
to find shade animals try
birds seek migration
agony of thirst and dehydration
yet enthusiasm in children
enough time for play and fun
because schools are closed
chance of excursion and explore
cold drinks and ice cream
always children’s summer dream
