Get up, be ready, time for
prayer
now clock alarm chants
melodious.
Heavenly bodies sun, moon
and stars
used to tell time to our forefathers.
When planets will set and
when will rise
naturally guessed time they’re
so wise.
Day divided, morning, noon,
evening
dusk, mid-night, dawn the nights.
Shadows displayed noon, fore
or after
stick stuck in ground
evolved sundial .
Doodle-doo said dawn is
going to break
chirping birds yelled get up
from the bed.
Tessa's grandma was twelve years
old
her
grandma knew counting springs rolled
